Routine maintenance ensures consistent device performance and safe patient use. Follow the cleaning, inspection, and storage guidance below.
Daily Cleaning (Between Patients)
- Power the device off before cleaning whenever possible.
- Use a clean, lint-free cloth with medical-grade disinfectant.
- Do not spray liquid directly onto the device; apply to cloth first.
- Wipe patient-contact surfaces and allow to dry fully.
- Do not use abrasive materials or harsh solvents.
Optical Surface Care
- Use only approved lens-cleaning tissue or microfiber cloth.
- Avoid applying pressure to optical surfaces.
- Keep optics covered or protected during storage and transport.
Weekly Inspection Checklist
- Inspect the device body for cracks, loose parts, or wear.
- Confirm IPD adjustment moves smoothly within range.
- Inspect charging port and cable for damage.
- Confirm display renders optotypes clearly.
- Verify video consultation functionality on the Attender device.
Charging & Battery Care
- Charge using the supplied adapter only.
- Avoid deep discharge whenever possible; recharge when battery is low.
- Disconnect from power once fully charged.
- Store the device partially charged if unused for extended periods.
Storage & Transport
- Store in a dry, dust-free indoor environment.
- Avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, and extreme temperatures.
- Use protective packaging during transport to prevent shocks or drops.
Software Updates
Software updates may be delivered through the cloud ecosystem. Ensure the device and associated applications remain connected and do not interrupt updates once initiated.

Do not attempt repairs or internal servicing. For faults, performance issues, or physical damage, contact the authorised distributor for guidance and service procedures.
