Safety, Warnings & Precautions
Read this section carefully before operating TEFLA®. Safe operation depends on correct handling, stable connectivity, and adherence to clinical protocols.
General Safety
- TEFLA must be operated only by trained personnel under professional supervision.
- Use the system only in clean, controlled indoor environments.
- Do not modify hardware, optics, power systems, or software components.
- Keep the device away from moisture, liquids, and high-humidity environments.
- Do not use the device if damaged. Contact the authorised distributor for service guidance.
Electrical & Battery Safety
- Use only the supplied power adapter and approved accessories.
- Do not use third-party chargers or adapters.
- Do not expose the device to extreme heat, direct sunlight, or open flame.
- Do not operate the device while charging in unsafe environments.
- If the device overheats, disconnect from power and allow it to cool before reuse.
Operational Precautions
- Ensure stable internet connectivity before initiating an examination.
- Avoid interruptions during examinations to prevent incomplete assessments.
- Do not force IPD adjustment beyond the specified range.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and comfort during use.
- Stop use immediately if the patient experiences discomfort or adverse symptoms.
Infection Control
- Disinfect patient-contact surfaces before and after each patient.
- Use medical-grade, non-abrasive disinfectants suitable for optical devices.
- Do not spray liquids directly onto the device. Apply disinfectant to a cloth first.
- Allow surfaces to dry fully before the next use.
Contraindications & Limitations
TEFLA is not intended for emergency eye-care situations, trauma assessment, or advanced posterior segment diagnostics. Patients requiring urgent ophthalmic intervention must be referred to an appropriate facility immediately.
