TEFLA®

Tele-Optometry System

System Architecture

TEFLA® is engineered as an integrated tele-optometry ecosystem combining calibrated optical hardware, controlled clinical interfaces, and secure cloud connectivity. The architecture is designed to maintain consistency across remote examination environments while supporting clinical oversight and traceable digital outputs.

System Layers

Core Components

Optical & Display System

TEFLA incorporates a calibrated digital display and optical pathway designed to support controlled optotype presentation. The system enables consistent testing independent of room size constraints, supporting deployment in clinics, outreach settings, and home-care environments.

Interpupillary Distance (IPD) Adjustment

The device supports mechanical IPD adjustment between 55 mm and 75 mm via a precision pinion-gear mechanism. Adjust smoothly within the specified range only. Forcing movement beyond the range may compromise alignment.

Power & Battery

TEFLA includes an internal rechargeable battery designed for extended field use. Charge using the supplied adapter only. For operational guidance, follow the Safety and Maintenance sections of this manual.

Connectivity & Synchronisation

TEFLA relies on stable internet connectivity for real-time session control, consultation continuity, and secure record synchronisation. Where connectivity is unstable, examinations should not be initiated to avoid incomplete sessions.

Data Handling (High-Level)

Patient records, prescriptions, and session metadata are handled within the TEFLA ecosystem for authorised access. Users must comply with applicable privacy, consent, and telemedicine regulations relevant to their jurisdiction.
